His Holiness Karekin II Receives Newly Appointed Ambassador of Latvia
On December 16, His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, received Mr. Gints Apals, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Latvia to the Republic of Armenia, in the headquarters of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
His Holiness congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in his tenure which would serve for the development and improvement of the close relations between the two nations. "Though our nations are geographically far apart, they have the same faith, and receiving sustenance from the same base, they become closer and strengthen their friendship", - the Armenian Pontiff stated in part.
During the meeting there was a reflection on the relationship between the two countries, as well as on the current concerns facing not only the State but the Church, on the issue of maintaining and enlightening the people on moral values.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Ambassador visited the Museums of Mother See and learned about the spiritual-cultural treasures of the Armenian nation.
