His Holiness Karekin II Defrocks Rev. Fr. Karekin Haroutiunian
His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, has issued a Pontifical Order whereby Rev. Fr. Karekin Haroutiunian has been defrocked for uncanonical actions by violating his oath of obedience.
As of January 31, 2006, the defrocked clergyman is a member of the laity and shall be known by his baptismal name of Haroutiun Haroutiunian.
