It was built in 1908-1911. It is located on the northeastern side of the Mayravank. This building with unique columns and arches was designed by architect P. Zohrabyan. Originally, it was supposed to serve as a storage place for the colored manuscripts of the Armenian Church (Matenadaran). The extensive collection of manuscripts of the Armenian Church was preserved in this building until the Soviet period. Then the collection was moved from the Mother See to St. Mesrop Mashtots Matenadaran in Yerevan.
From 1945-1997 the classes of the Gevorkian Theological Seminary were held here. In order to adapt to the requirements of the time, it was necessary to expand the building, so in 1981 (according to the project presented by the author of the reconstruction, A. Galikyan) the building was expanded by adding two floors on the north side, by adding a new entrance and bathroom on the west side. The construction works were carried out in 1983 under the patronage of Arsham Perperyan.
