Was born on June 18, 1960, in Beirut. Baptismal name is Gevork.

From 1971 to 1977 - Vahan Tekeyan Seminary of Beirut.

From 1977 to 1979 - Seminary of the Great House of the Catholicos of Cilicia.

From 1979 to 1986 - Gevorkian Theological Seminary of Holy Etchmiadzin.

From 1989 to 1990 - Columbia Universities of Geneva, Switzerland and New York.

From 1990 to 1993 - Richmond Theological Seminary and University of Virginia.

In 2003 - Indiana State "Trinity" Theological Seminary, /Master of Theology/.

 

 

  • Ecclesiastical titles and ordination
     

In 1986  - Ordained to the diaconate by His Eminence Archbishop Hoosik Santourian.

In 1987 - Ordained as a celibate priest by His Eminence Archbishop Vasken Keshishian.

In 1988 - Rank of Archimandrite by His Eminence Archbishop Nerses Pozapalian. Thesis: "The Catholicosy of Akhtamar".

In 2023 - Consecrated as a Bishop by His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians.

From 1986 to 1987 - Secretary of the Old Residence.

From 1987 to 1988 - Spiritual pastor of the Armenian community of Vancouver (Canada).

From 1990 to 1993 - Spiritual pastor of St. James Church in Richmond (Virginia, USA).

From 1993 to 1994 - Grand Sacristan of the St. Vardan Church in New York.

From 1994 to 1997 - Spiritual Pastor of the St. John the Baptist Church (Florida, USA).

From 1997 to 2002 - Spiritual Pastor of St. Vardanants Church (Chelmsford, USA).

In 2001 - Member of the committee for the 1700th anniversary of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

From 2002 to 2003 - Visiting pastor in the churches of the Eastern Diocese of the Armenian Church in North America.

From 2003 to 2009 - Spiritual Pastor of the St. Nazareth Church in Calcutta (India).

From 2005 to 2009 - Governor of the Pastorate of the Armenian Churches of India and the Armenian Philantrophic Academy.

From 2009 to 2022 - Spiritual Pastor of the St. Sahak-St. Mesrop Church (Pennsylvania, USA).

Since 2022 - Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Iraq.
