- General Information
Was born on August 5, 1973, the village of Voskehat, Armavir Region. Baptismal name is Samvel.
From 1980 to 1990 - Secondary school in Voskehat.
From 1990 to 1996 - Gevorkian Theological Seminary.
From 2003 to 2007 - Faculty of Law at the Yerevan State University (qualification of lawyer), specialty "Jurisprudence".
- Ecclesiastical titles and ordination
In 1996 - Ordained to the Diaconate by His Grace Bishop Anania Arabajian.
In 1997 - Ordained as a Celibate priest by His Eminence Archbishop Zaven Chinchinyan.
In 2001 - Rank of Archimandrite - by His Eminence Archbishop Navasard Kchoyan (“Nunciature in the Armenian Church”).
In 2004 - COnsecrated as a Bishop by His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians.
In 2023 - Rank of Archbishop by the Encyclical of His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians.
- Tenure
From 1996 to 1997 - Secretary in the Pontifical Residence.
In 1998 - Responsibility of overseeing the care and preservation of the buildings of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
In 1999 - Chief editor at the editorial office of “Etchmiadzin” the official monthly.
In 2000 - Head of the newly founded Department of Diocesan relations.
In 2001 - Chancellor of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
From 2003 to 2005 - Lecturer of the Gevorkian Theological Seminary (New Testaments, Hagiography, and Liturgical Music).
In 2004 - Representative Member of the Mother See at the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.
In 2001 - Member of the monastic council.
In 2004 - Member of the Supreme Spiritual Council.
In 2004 - Co-chairman of the Liturgical Committee.
In 2005 - Chairman of the Doctrine Thesis Preparation and Defense Committee.
In 2014- Honorary Doctor at the RA National Academy of Sciences.
