Was born in 1939, in Beirut, Lebanon. Baptismal name is Harutyun.

Primary education in Abgaryan school in Beirut.

From 1952 to 1956 -  Theological Seminary of the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia.

From 1957 to 1960 - Seminary of the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem.

From 1964 to 1968 - USA Syracuse University (Economics, Philosophy and Sociology).

 

  • Ecclesiastical titles and ordination

 

In 1959 - Ordained to the Diaconate by His Eminence Archbishop Souren Kempajian.

In 1960 - Ordained as a Celibate priest by His Eminence Archbishop Souren Kembajian.

In 1967 -  Rank of Archimandrite by His Eminence Archbishop Torkom Manoogian.

In 1975 - Rank of Senior Archimandrite by His Eminence Archbishop Torkom Manoogian.

In 2000 - Consecrated as a Bishop by His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians.

In 2013 - Rank of Archbishop by the Encyclical of His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians.

 

  • Tenure

 

From 1960 to 1963 - Director of the St. Tarkmanchatz (Holy Translators) Elementary and High School in Jerusalem.

From 1964 to 1966 - Spiritual Pastor of the St. Poghos Church in Syracuse (New York).

From 1966 to 1968 - Spiritual Pastor of the Holy Mother of God Church in Washington.

From 1969 to 1993 - Spiritual Pastor of the St. Hovhannes Church in Detroit.

From 1994 to 1995 - Spiritual Pastor of the St. Gregory the Illuminator Church in Chicago.

From 1996 to 2000 - Vicar General of the Diocese of Shirak.

From 2000 to 2007 - Director of the Museums of the Mother See.

From 2000 to 2007 - Member of the Supreme Spiritual Council.

From 2007 to 2011 - Director of the Human Resources Department.

Since 2011 - Chairman of the Audit Committee of the Holy Etchmiadzin.
