  • General Information

Was born in 1961 Rind Village of Yeghegnadzor Region. Baptismal name is Gevork.

From 1968 to 1978 - Secondary school of Rind Village.

From 1982 to 1986 - Gevorkian Theological Seminary.

From 1989 to 1992 - Faculty of Philology at Yerevan State University.

  • Ecclesiastical titles and ordination

In 1986 - Ordained to the Diaconate by His Eminence Archbishop Housik Santourian.

In 1987 - Ordained as a Celibate priest by His Eminence Archbishop Nerses Poszpalian.

In 1992 - Rank of Archimandrite by His Grace Bishop Anania Arabajian (Thesis: “Commentaries on the Lord’s Prayer in the Armenian Literary Comments” (according to Yeghishe, Gregory of Narek, Nerses the Graceful, Nerses of Lambron, Vardan the Easterner, and Gregory of Tatev).

In 1996 -  Consecrated as a Bishop by Catholicos of All Armenians, His Holiness Karekin I.

In 2013 -  rank of Archbishop by the Pontifical Encyclical of His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians.

  •  Tenure

In 1986 - Secretary of the “Etchmiadzin” Monthly.

In 1986 - Director of the “Etchmiadzin” Monthly.

In 1987 to 1989 - Lecturer of the Gevorkian Theological Seminary.

From 1993 to 2010 - Primate of the Diocese of Syunik.

Since 2010 - Primate of the Diocese of Vayots Dzor.
