Was born in 1955, in Kesab, Syria. Baptismal name is Hagop.
From 1962 to 1965- United Armenian College in Kesab.
From 1965 to 1972 - Secondary education in Lebanon.
From 1972 to 1975 - Gevorkian Theological Seminary of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
From 1975 to 1980 - University of Regensburg.
- Ecclesiastical titles and ordination
In 1974 - Ordained to the Diaconate by His Eminence Archbishop Hoosik Santourian.
In 1976 - Ordained as a Celibate priest by His Eminence Archbishop Hoosik Santourian
In 1980 - Rank of Archimandrite by His Grace Bishop Arsen Berberyan. (Thesis: "The revelation of God in its complexities").
In 1985 - Rank of Senior Archimandrite by His Eminence Archbishop Hoosik Santourian.
In 1990 - Consecrated as a Bishop by the Catholicos of All Armenians, His Holiness Vasken I.
In 2001 - Rank of Archbishop by the Pontifical Encyclical of His Holiness Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians.
- Tenure
In 1975 - Secretary of the editorial office of the "Etchmiadzin" Monthly and the Secretariat of the Pontifical Administration.
From 1976 to 1980 - Spiritual Pastor of the Armenian community of Regensburg (Germany).
In 1984 - Locum Tenens of the newly-formed Armenian Diocese of Uruguay.
From 1984 to 1992 - General Director of the local Nersissian School.
